Much to the chagrin of most of his family, Eddie has been a bartender at The Leaky Cauldron for several years now. Obviously, he makes drinks and serves patrons, but the larger part of his job is of course helping establish the proper atmosphere. He greets customers, but also genuinely welcomes them, makes them comfortable, and encourages them to STAY. The Leaky Cauldron (as Tom has told him on more than one occasion....and really Tom doesn't talk much, so it MUST be important) is THE meeting spot in Diagon Alley, and it has a reputation that must constantly be upheld. Eddie is actually more than up to the task. He spends most of his time at work assessing the atmosphere and mood of the room as a whole, and then improving it in whatever way the situation demands. When he first was hired, Eddie worked mostly the earlier shifts, and during the week; now however, his ability for dealing with a more rambunctious crowd has actually allowed the older help at Leaky to work during the day more often, when more customers wanting room and board are coming in (he also worked the dining room more in the beginning, and will still occasionally do so now). Eddie wouldn't choose to frequent a pub himself, but going to work is like play for him, and he adores this job. Eventual career goal is a tavern or pub of his own, but right now he's content with slowly becoming more involved at Leaky and learning all he can.

Personal History:
Born into a proud, Scottish, pureblood family of mostly Ravenclaws with the odd Slytherin thrown in, Eddie is the youngest of three children born to Malcolm and Fiona Fraser, the previous two being Ian, their other son, and Senga, a daughter. They've lived in a large laird outside Hogsmeade for generations, and Eddie's childhood was all very rural and happy and much less dignified and bookish than his parents would have preferred. He arrived at Hogwarts with a good start on an education, due mostly to his mother's dedication and determination (and partly his naturally curious nature), but with little to NO knowledge of the Muggle world or the blood feud. There was not surprise, but probably a general air of regret and "where did we go wrong" questioning back at home when Eddie was sorted into Gryffindor, but he didn't quite pick up on it *cough*. There was nothing too strange about his years spent at Hogwarts; Eddie was liked by some but viewed as greatly obnoxious by others; his teachers liked him well enough, except Snape, of course, as he was not nearly as adept at potions as the good professor would have liked. He was not the best at flying, quidditch, dueling, or chess, but he was an extremely enthusiastic participant in all these activities (most of the dueling being unsanctioned and dealing with house rivalry....what?). His relationship with his siblings was fine at school, but things were always slightly strained at home until Eddie entered fifth year, when his parents were given a stern talking to by Ian, and slowly began the process of accepting Eddie as completely they had their other children. His owl scores, which were quite good, didn't hurt. Then, when he graduated and actually TOOK a ministry (procured for Eddie by his uncle, natch) job, they were thrilled. Eddie was too, at the beginning. Misuse of Muggle Artifacts?! HILARIOUS! But the job's rountine settled in, and after a few years he suddenly clearly saw his whole life in front of him and bolted, buying a flat right off Diagon and picking up his current place in the world. After a bit of initial resistance to the change...his parents shrugged and rolled their eyes. IT'S EDDIE; good thing he's cute.

Personality:
If forced to describe Eddie in one word, most of his friends would probably use playful. Actually, most of his friends would probably choose the types of words that would not be particularly useful or appropriate given present company, but you get the idea, hopefully. He's laid back and slow to anger, frustrate, or excite. Eddie comes across as rather happy go lucky and carefree, and for the most part he IS. He has a vague sense of ambition and a more finely tuned sense of morality. Rather naturally content; as long as there is another person present Eddie will find SOMETHING to amuse hopefully both of them, and if nothing else, himself. He values his relationships above all of his possessions, and counts his golden retriever Morag (Morag and Murtagh, see how cute? Only don't call him that, OMG) among the first.

Physical Description:
Brown hair, blue eyes, mostly pale complexion that tans easily. Eddie stands at 5'10", and weighs in around 170 lbs, which is rather odd of him, considering he is Scottish and should be using metric measurements. *shifty eyes* His build is slightly more muscular than average, and he would go through great pains to keep it that way (there is a room in his flat devoted almost entirely to free weights, and he loves to jog on Diagon Alley early in the morning or late in the evening, when it's not so crowded). Eddie's got a significant amount of energy, though, so it's not ever a pain. He wears his hair longish and doesn't particularly worry about being clean shaven. Because an entrance to The Leaky Cauldron is located in Muggle London (and also because he prefers it), Eddie rarely wears robes these days, preferring jeans and casual shirts. He has a crooked smile, and an expressive face; not conventionally handsome perhaps, and rather boyish, but decently attractive. Eddie himself gives his appearance little thought most of the time, other than "Am I socially acceptable and comfortable? BRILLIANT!"

Leaky was dim in the special sort of early-Sunday-morning-halflight seemingly reserved for successful weekends, and Eddie was crouched down doing official inventory for the end of the week. A rare yawn was stretching his face, when a loud yelp and a crash came from the back room. He lept to his feet and stood staring at the door, waiting. (This was not the first time, after all.) After perhaps a second, maybe two, the sound of rather a large amount of liquid crashing quickly to floor came, and Eddie dropped his head, bringing his hands up to meet it, the heels of his palms resting against his closed eyes. Then he shook his head and muttered a particularly colorful string of Gaelic words, and pulled his hands away from his face to rub it, looking toward the origin of sound once more. Silence. "OI, LASSIE!" he barked out. "Are ye wounded, then?"

Hobbies and talents - max of five:
People! People are both a talent and hobby for Eddie. He's great at reading them, good at wooing them, and enjoys being around them, as they are terribly amusing, the silly things.
He has TERRIBLE taste in and great love for music, especially that of the Muggle variety. He can sing fairly well (and does so frequently, at great volume, though mostly when alone) and knows some chords on the guitar, but music is definitely more a hobby than a talent.
Weaknesses - for every hobby or talent, the character must have two weaknesses:
Sophisticated dueling. Eddie thinks and moves quickly, and he's not small per se, but he's basically a scrappy fighter, and kind of sloppy.
Despite being decently athletic: Flying and Quidditch, to his complete and total embarassment and frustration. Or rather, it would be, if Eddie got embarassed or frustrated. He will still play recreationally with his friends, and he's VERY enthusiastic but, uhm....whatever team he is on usually loses. Yikes.
Eddie is not taken seriously. This could advantageous, and it's not much bothered him before, but he's not an idiot and would someday like to do...something. *wishes him luck, pats him kindly on the back*
He has a tendency to be self-absorbed, with his head in the clouds.
Areas of Magical Expertise: Defensive magic: shield charms, warding spells, etc. He's also good with household spells and charms. Man makes a mean, clean housekeeper, though to look at him you probably wouldn't think so.
Areas of Magical Weakness: Hexes and curses. It was quite trying for him as a Gryff, not being able to retaliate with as much force as he would have liked when provoked. Probably couldn't perform an Unforgivable if his life depended on it. He's also not very good with long, complicated, very subtle magic; he doesn't possess enough patience or delicacy for such things.
Broom (if applicable): Nimbus 2000, and it still manages to run away with him sometimes, the poor dear.
